Oceanmilk The Acid Test

This paper measures the acid-alkaline state of saliva and urine only, not other fluids.

1. Ideal time to test is first thing in the morning before eating or drinking.
2. Moisten a 3cm strip with saliva.
3. Compare colour to the pH scale on the front of the dispenser or side of the box.

Testing saliva

This is the easiest and simplest test. Saliva testing is best done first thing in the morning. Do not eat, drink or brush your teeth before the test or wait at least 2 hours after eating, drinking or brushing your teeth.
Moisten a 3cm strip of litmus paper with some saliva. Do not leave the paper in your mouth.
When the test paper is moistened, it will take on a colour. The colour relates to the acid or alkaline state of your saliva and ranges from yellow to dark blue. Match the colour of your test strip with the chart provided in your test kit. Any number below 7 means that the sample you are testing is on the acid side. The lower the number, the more acidic it is. Seven indicates a neutral state, neither acid nor alkaline.
Saliva readings should ideally be 7.5pH indicating a healthy, slightly alkaline body state.
