Extra Virgin Olive oil has a long history within Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. Cold-pressed oil has seen its popularity rise globally due to its purported health-giving properties. Due to its popularity, a large variety of olive oil grades exist, the most sought after being the Extra Virgin and Organic Extra Virgin Grades. These cold-pressed oils have a distinct spicy taste and green colour that distinguishes them from their more common, and cheaper cousin – refined olive oil. The Extra Virgin oil is obtained from the flesh of the olive fruit.
